Zaina El-Said, based in Amman, Jordan, draws on her Circassian heritage and mythology to create collage art, a technique that assembles various images and ideas into one piece. Circassians are an ethnic minority from the North Caucasus that are now primarily located in Jordan and other parts of the MENA region, Europe, and North America.
In this discussion, Zaina spoke about the decision to pursue art professionally after ten years of work in Europe, Russia, and the United States, in addition to the climate for arts in MENA and role of technology in their work.
